Saturday 11th April 2026
2pm for Book Launch & Historic Talk , by Local Historian, Samuel Doering
The day will commence at 2pm in Immanuel Church, and will include the launch of the book and a special performance by the Tanunda Liedertafel.
Immanuel Lutheran Church is turning 150!
Thanks to award-winning historian, Samuel Doering, we are excited to launch our anniversary book ‘There’s a Point to it.’
Since 1876, Immanuel Lutheran Church has been a cradle for leaders, thinkers and pioneers, and is the birthplace of Immanuel College. This publication will reveal the powerful, little-known history of one of South Australia’s most significant religious and educational sites.
Point Pass is a small place – but its story is anything but small!
The day will commence at 2pm in Immanuel Church, and will include the launch of the book and a special performance by the Tanunda Liedertafel.
Afternoon tea will be provided by donation, and guests are welcome to explore the Church and cemetery, and see a specially-curated display of historic items.
